AFRIGARDE By Maria Uys
Amathambo - 'bones'
Afrofuturistic wearable art inspired by Ndebele design- for those who love to make a bold statement.
AFRIGARDE was inspired by the Ndebele tribe, who live across Southern Africa.
The Ndebele are renowned for their distinct brightly colored geometric patterns that adorn their homestead walls.
The range aims to create a futuristic aesthetic incorporating traditional African body adornment, which redefines the cultural barriers and bias that certain traditional dress might create.
AFRIGARDE pieces can be used to adorn your body or decorate your wall. Each piece is handmade and engineered out of extremely lightweight felt.
THE DESIGNER- Maria Uys

In 2018, Maria has been invited to showcase at both the Paris as well as Milan Fashion Week.
